The Canadian Freshwater Alliance is hosting a half-day private tour of the Coquitlam Watershed in partnership with Metro Vancouver. Through short presentations, you’ll learn about the history of the region’s water supply, water quality, treatment, how it gets to your home and the role of a healthy ecosystem in maintaining exceptional water quality. Many of us in the lower mainland are lucky to have a protected drinking water source. However, much of our province does not. Waters in British Columbia are facing unprecedented threats from industrial activity, population pressures and a changing climate. Join us for this memorable tour and be part of an insightful conversation on the future of our most precious resource - water.
We would like to acknowledge that this event will take place on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Kwikwetlem (kʷikʷəƛ̓əm) and Coast Salish peoples.
