Caldwell First Nation

The traditional territory of the Caldwell First Nation encompasses a broad part of the Ontario region, in particular the areas extending from the Detroit River along Amherstburg all the way to Long Point Ontario and the Lake Erie Islands. The heart of their ancestral territory includes the areas of Essex and Kent County area, in particular the Point Pelee Peninsula and Pelee Island.

Youth from Team Caldwell will be joining Team SUP and Team Wingfoil for the final 4 kilometre stretch of the Lake Erie Challenge, from the Leamington Marina to the finish at Pelee Wings Nature Store.

Pelee Wings Nature Store

Pelee Wings Nature Store's unique Lake Erie waterfront location is just minutes from the famous Point Pelee National Park in Leamington Ontario on the southern tip of Canada. 

Pelee Wings Nature Store is the final destination for the Lake Erie Challenge athletes.

Pelee Island Winery

Pelee Island Winery is a 700+ acre farm in Canada’s warmest grape growing region with a winemaking history dating back more than 150 years.

Pelee Island Winery will be leading some fun festivities on Pelee Island during the Lake Erie Challenge - as well as welcoming Team Wingfoil during their stopover on the island! Be ready for special ice cream flavours, a beach cleanup, a collection of local vendors and outdoor yoga classes.

Pelee Art Works

Pelee Art Works is a non-profit organization that was established in 1995 to create a centre for arts and culture on Pelee Island. Housed in a historic building, this community initiative mirrors the thriving and resourceful spirit of the Island community. Art Works features the work of many local artists, photographers, potters, weavers, woodworkers, authors, jewellers, textile artists, artisans, and more.

Pelee Eco Works

Pelee Island Eco Works is a group of volunteers interested in supporting Pelee Island’s natural beauty and ecological community. Their projects address topics including bird biodiversity, invasive species, responsible consumerism, sustainable lifestyle, healthy Great Lakes and minimizing plastic waste.

Environmentally friendly arts and crafts are the name of the game for Pelee Eco Works! They'll be leading these family-fun activities and installing some eco-art in the area.
