Reforming Canada's Environmental Laws

In March 2018, the Federal Government reformed major environmental laws, proposing changes to how land, water and species are protected in Canada. But do they go far enough?

Bill C-68, a An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and other Acts in consequence; and Bill C-69, An Act to enact the Impact Assessment Act and the Canadian Energy Regulator Act, to amend the Navigation Protection Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts were introduced in early 2018.

In this webinar, we were joined by Climate Action Network - Réseau action climat CanadaForum for Leadership on Water, the Pembina Institute and West Coast Environmental Law to discuss what the proposed laws mean and how we can continue to push for stronger protections.
